Who we are

The Benalmádena International Parish is an inclusive local initiative seeking to serve the wider community through social, cultural and spiritual activities. Many of us are foreign residents who are privileged to live in this part of paradise called the Costa del Sol, and who have found community among neighbours and new friends. Our hope is to share that gift of community with others and to became a space where everyone matters, everyone belongs and together we thrive.

We are a parish...

... in the broadest sense of the word. The term “parish” originally meant “those who dwell in a strange land”, “foreigners and sojourners”. Eventually, "parish" came to mean the geographic area in which a community dwelt. At the heart of these parishes there was often a church building that acted as a community hub for its residents, a safe space open to all and at the service of everyone. As an international parish we are an inclusive community of people from different countries, cultures and walks of life. Our members include people of faith (ecumenical community) and no faith, reflecting the colourful mosaic of diversity of the Costa del Sol.
